Republicans are more enthusiastic about voting than Democrats, Romney ties Obama

Republicans are more enthusiastic about voting for the next president than the Democrats are.

This could give the Republican candidate the boost he will need, if the right guy wins the nomination.

As it stands today, according to the latest Gallup poll, that guy is Mitt Romney

When asked who they would vote for today, if Romney, Gingrich, Santorum, or Paul were the Republican Party’s candidate…

… Who do you think has the best chance of winning?

Ronald Reagan “Are you better off today than you were four years ago?”

Are you better off today than you were four years ago? Ronald Reagan asked this question Oct 2, 2008, it’s time to ask it again?

    Watch the video.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the pretax median household income in 2010 was $49,445, a 2.3 percent decline from 2009.

According to the Tax Policy Center, 244 current members of Congress were millionaires in 2009, the most recent year for which data is available.

Barak Obama the 44th president of America has an estimated net worth up to $11 million.

Newt Gingrich’s latest financial disclosures show total wealth of at least $6.7 million as of July 2011.

I’ll remind you that the average American household income is $49,445.00 a year, with a
median net worth of $96,000 in 2009 down from $125,000 in 2007.

And families took on more debt, pushing median total debt levels to $75,600 from $70,300. They also made less money. money.cnn.com

Obama’s net worth is 114 times the average American and 222 times our median household income. And he’s almost twice as rich as Gingrich, if we can believe Gingrich…

His latest financial disclosures show total wealth of at least $6.7 million as of July 2011.
Since he left Congress in 1999, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has built a network of businesses and nonprofit ventures that have brought in more than $100 million from clients and donors.

The Gingrich brand includes a consulting firm, a book and video company, and a political fundraising operation that is now fueling his campaign for President. Businessweek.com

Even though Mitt Romney has accumulated more wealth than Barack and Newt, do you think they are more in touch with the average American?…

Do you think Romney would be a better president if he only had 122 times more money than you do?

Keep in mind that more than half the members of congress are millionaires, too.

Is Barack Obama better off than he was four years ago? You bet.
His wealth has increased by $4million since 2008.

    October 27, 1964 — Ronald Reagan
“If all of this seems like a great deal of trouble, think what’s at stake. We are faced with the most evil enemy mankind has known in his long climb from the swamp to the stars. There can be no security anywhere in the free world if there is no fiscal and economic stability within the United States. Those who ask us to trade our freedom for the soup kitchen of the welfare state are architects of a policy of accommodation.”

    Are you better off today?

Romney’s tax returns, Don’t you pay as little tax as you can?

Do you really care about Romney’s tax returns?

Don’t you try to pay as little tax as you can?

Why would anybody pay more income tax than they have to? Don’t you think Uncle Sam is getting enough of the income you work for?

That may be how Romney feels. I prefer to have a president that understands that we don’t want to pay higher taxes.

I also want a president that knows how to make money and how to save money.

Romney said late on Thursday: “I’m not going to apologize for being successful.”

Maybe he hasn’t saved all the jobs at all the companies Bain Capital has ever owned. He has however created far more jobs than he might have caused to be lost.

Do you think that all the companies Obama and Gingrich invested in always saved every employees job?

I hate to even bring this up but how long was it before Obama produced proof that he is an American citizen when he was running for President the first time in 2008?

He released his birth certificate in June 2008; His presidential campaign began in February 2007. So it took him more than year to produce a document far more important that Romney’s tax returns.

Barack Obama didn’t release his tax returns until March 2008, also a year after beginning his campaign for president.

I’m not suggesting that Obama is not an American Citizen or that he cheated on his taxes; just that it took him a long time to prove it. And like Romney, he had nothing to hide, so why take so long, and why criticize Romney for doing the same thing?

The same can be said for Gingrich. Not about his tax filings but more about his history. He keeps attacking Romney on his history as an investor at Bain Capital, indicating that Romney’s can’t be trusted to do what’s right.

We are however, according to Gingrich supposed to believe in, and trust him to do the right thing. He says we shouldn’t bring up his past, particularly his problems with infidelity, and the story he tells about his being responsible for four years of a balanced budget. At a time when he was not even in office.

Newt Gingrich, said “I helped balance the federal budget for four straight years, the only time in your lifetime we had four years of a balanced budget. We paid over $400 billion in federal debt off.” NOT TRUE

Gingrich was off on both claims concerning the budget. The budget was indeed balanced for four years, but it’s a stretch for him to take credit for more than two of those years. As for paying off $405 billion in debt, the data we found shows the debt actually increased during Gingrich’s four-year tenure as speaker by more than $800 billion. We rate Gingrich’s claim False. Politifact.com

The problem is that Gingrich left office in January 1999. That means he was in office for only 2 of the four years.

So, back to the original question about Romney’s taxes. If you are planning to vote for him now
and you find out he paid the same tax rate that you did, are you going to vote for Obama or Gingrich instead?

    If so why,
will the fact that they missed a chance to save on their taxes make them a better president?

Of course none of these three guys can identify with the life most of us lead. They don’t live the same life style most of us do. Why should we believe that any of them know or understand what we face during our day-to-day lives, just trying to keep up?

We do want them to understand the economy of our country and what it takes to get it going and keep it going. We face a lot of problems as a country, but more than 50% of us agree that our economy is the problem we are most concerned about at this time. PollingReport.com

Doe’s your vote really depend on Romney’s tax rate?

Mitt Romney and his willingness to fire.

I, for one am glad to hear Mitt Romney talk about his willingness to fire the people who don’t get the job done.

    (MoneyWatch)
COMMENTARY The presidential election is just one big job interview, so it makes sense that as long as we’re talking about hiring, we should talk about firing. Mitt Romney recently said: “I like being able to fire people who provide services to me. If someone doesn’t give me the good service I need, I’m going to go get somebody else to provide that service to me.”

Horrifying, right? How on earth could any human being like firing anyone? Well, to be fair, he didn’t say he liked firing anyone. He said he liked being able to fire someone. And so do you. You do it all the time.

We’ve had enough of the companies, politicians, special interest groups, congressmen, and employees that just don’t produce.

Most everyone will tell you that they want to work and keep their job. That’s probably true for most folks. But it doesn’t seem to be true for everyone. And nobody enjoys seeing folks lose their jobs, but some times it has to happen.

I know, that you know what I’m talking about. Just think about the service or lack of service you receive these days.

How many times have you heard “it’s not my job”?

How often are you frustrated by trying to get something simple taken care of, and you have to deal with an employee that doesn’t care whether you’re a satisfied customer or not?

How often would you like to fire someone?

I know that problems are often caused by the management or by poor management. But the managers are employees too and some of them need to go, as do some of the owners.

It doesn’t matter how much we wish things were different, the fact remains, if the owners and shareholders of companies don’t make a profit then they are not going to continue to invest money, and jobs will be lost.

If we don’t begin to hold our politicians accountable, but expect things to be different, we are in for a big change in this country, and that is exactly what Barak Obama promised us. If we expect things to get better and we keep doing the same things we’ve done for the past three years, where will we be in four years.

Romney is taking a lot of flack for job losses at the Pad and Paper Company of Marion, Indiana after being purchased by his company Bain Capital.

There’s no doubt that he and Bain had a hand in the closing of the Pad and Paper Company. He however didn’t do it by himself. Like most good and bad actions that affect communities the resulting consequences are caused by the actions of many people.

If the consequences are good everyone wants a little credit, if bad, everyone wants to blame someone else.

Bain Capital bought the Pad and Paper Company in 1994 and ended up shutting the company down. This became a political weapon that Democrats wielded against Romney in potent television ads they aired during the closing days of Romney’s bitter 1994 challenge to the then-incumbent Sen. Edward Kennedy.

Obama plans to use the same weapon this year. And why shouldn’t he, Romney’s own party is already using it against him.

The way I understand it the closing of the Marion, Indiana Pad and Paper Company, was caused as much by the union and organized labor as it was by Romney.

Labor organizer Randy Johnson was among the 385 blue-collar workers who lost their jobs at an American Pad and Paper (Ampad) factory in Marion, Indiana after Mitt Romney’s private equity firm purchased the company.

Bain Capital purchased the factory where Johnson worked two years later. The new owners began cutting staff and wages at the plant, and raising the cost of health benefits. The unionized workers went on strike. Ultimately, the plant shuttered and all the employees lost their jobs.

Read the article and watch the video here at ABC News.

When American Pad & Paper attempted to bring work rules and costs at the newly acquired plant in Indiana in line with market labor agreements, workers there balked. In September, plant employees initiated a strike, resulting in American Pad & Paper’s closing of the Indiana plant in February 1995.

Romney may or may not be the best person for the job. He may just be the best we have to choose from at this point. I certainly wouldn’t count him out just because he has been successful in business. Don’t you wish we had a successful and experienced businessman working to improve our economy now?

This short video about Newt Gingrich, his failure to qualify for Virginia’s primary and Bryan’s interview is not factual, it’s something I put together from some of Mr. Gingrich’s previous interviews and quotes…

He does however mention his books, Callista’s books, and his claim to balancing the federal budget in most of his interviews.

You can read an account of how Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich stepped into controversy Christmas weekend as he compared his exclusion from the Virginia primary ballot to the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941.
